In the opening scene, a pregnant woman is seen to be chased in a sugarcane field, and is forced herself to cut her womb. The scene then cuts to the cityscape, where Sakshi works in an NGO and lives with her husband Hemant. They both abscond to their driver's village, in order to hide for some days after Hemant is beaten and threatened by some people for not returning a loan he had borrowed for a business plan., They reach the village, 300km from the city through a sugarcane field. There they meet the driver's wife Devi, who is a very Orthodox woman. After a couple of days, Hemant leaves Sakshi with Devi to find a solution to their financial problems. Sakshi gradually finds a bond with Devi. She meets Rani, Rajbir's (Devi's eldest son) wife who was shown to have been chased in the first scene. Devi tells Sakshi that Rani lost her child before the birth and in order to save her, her womb was cut., Sakshi is teased by three children and grows curious toward them. Devi finds out and warns her to stay away from them. But she doesn't listen to her and tries to have a conversation with the kids. Devi, growing frustrated that Sakshi is not listening to her decides to threaten her. Things sour between Devi and Sakshi after this incident. A few days later, Hemant comes to see Sakshi and she asks him to take her back in a panic. That night, as they are leaving, they both are attacked by Devi and some ritual is performed on Sakshi. She is taken to the room, and Devi ties her to the bed., Devi tells her that she must stay there alone for next three days in order to get rid of Sunaini, who was Devi's sister-in-law and also a witch (the ghost), who once was pregnant. She threw a spell on Devi's three little boys and killed her own husband, making three boys fall to the well, and also herself by cutting her womb. Sunaini has cursed Devi's family, ensuring they cannot continue their lineage., Devi instructs Sakshi that all the visions she will observe in the next three days will be an illusion and warns her to never sing the lullaby she heard of Sunaini. The remaining story revolves around how Sakshi tries to escape the house surrounded by sugarcane fields but all her efforts went in vain. She started to experience all those circumstances and challenges experienced once by Sunaina (Devi's sister-in-law)., In the end, it is revealed that Sunaini was being asked by her in-laws to kill her foetus because of a female child. When she refused to her husband and tried to escape, she accidentally killed her own husband with the knife given by Devi's three little sons who always loved Sunaina. Devi's family thinking Sunaina killed her own husband burned her alive. She in the process, gave birth to her baby but her baby was thrown in the well to fulfil a village-wide ritual that guarantees a good harvest. Sunaini in her completely burned state jumps into the well to save her daughter. Devi's 3 boys in turn jumped in after Sunaini's daughter and Sunaini to save them which resulted in all of them turning into ghosts., Sakshi is made to experience the 3 day ordeal that Sunaina went through, in a series of harrowing experiences. In the final moments, before being made to self-harm her baby by the ghost (Sunaina), Sakshi makes an oath to tell everyone of the ordeal that Sunaina went through, if the ghost lets her go, instead of repeating her torment on the new wives., Sakshi survives the 3 days ordeal and in the morning when Devi, the driver and Hemant come, Sakshi refuses to leave without revealing the story., Hemant is revealed to be Rajbir who killed his previous two wives because he was afraid they would tell people about the murders in the village. He spared Rani because she swore to stay silent forever., Sakshi walks away, dropping the knife which was still in her hand since the night, which she used to defend herself against Hemant / Rajbir. As Rajbir picks up the knife to attack her from behind, Rani attacks him and kills him with a cleaver. The ending scene shows Sakshi walking away from the village house, through the sugarcane field maze in the direction pointed out by the 3 ghost children. Sakshi is then joined by Rani in a bloody shirt.
