The Black Truth is based on a true story. The film highlights the cruelty and inhumane treatment to women in the name of Witch Hunting. This is an old age ritual, which is now used for exploiting women on petty excuses. The film also highlights the social system and political laxity of not framing tough laws to abolish this menace. Surprisingly Government of India after 65 years of Independence has still not made a central law to overcome this problem. The film revolves round a central character called Kusum, who raises her voice against all the odd things happening in the village. She is educated, beautiful and fearless lady who comes in the line of fire of the influential who was ruling the village though his policy of suppression. The film goes through all the plots and ploys of framing women a Witch and taking advantage of the situation how they exploit women mentally and sexually. National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) reveals that there are at least twelve (12) states in India, which are recognized as breeding grounds for witch hunts Jharkhand, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, and Bihar. This film is an eye-opener and a revolution against the practice of Witch-hunting. The Black Truth is based on real incidents .
