Trivia

Album
"Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai" (2000) was supposed to be the debut film of actress Kareena Kapoor. However, she walked out of the film when a misunderstanding developed between her mother, Babita Kapoor, and the film's director, Rakesh Roshan. Amisha Patel replaced her in it and Kareena went on debut in this film.
This film may have been inspired by the English short story "Love Across the Salt Desert" by Keki Daruwalla.
This was Abhishek Bachchan's debut film. In 1998, J.P. Dutta had announced a film titled "Aakhri Mughal" which was supposed to be Abhishek Bachchan's first Hindi film. However, it got shelved and J.P. Dutta made this film instead.
Song
Mere Humsafar - Anu Malik adapted the tune of a song by his father Sardar Malik, "Main Tumhari Ragini Tum Geet Ho" ("Roop Sundari", 1964), for this song.
